
Former Identification for Development Coordinator & Senior ICT Policy and Infrastructure Specialist, World Bank
Recognized as one of the Top Leaders in the Identity Industry, Mariana Dahan is the former Coordinator of the Identification for Development (ID4D) agenda at the World Bank.
She is a founding member of the Global Blockchain Business Council launched at the World Economic Forum in Davos this year.
Dr. Dahan started her career in the telecommunications industry in 1998. Having worked for mobile operators in both developed and developing countries, she gained valuable insights on the impact of new technologies on economic growth and social development.
These are reflected in her latest (2015) book “Quenching the Thirst for Innovation: Modeling the Diffusion of Mobile Technologies”.
Dr. Dahan holds a PhD degree from ESCP Europe Business School and another one from Paris II University in France. Prior to joining the World Bank Group in 2009, Mariana Dahan was a visiting researcher at the MIT Sloan School of Management in the United States.
